My fiancé and I will be heading off to deer camp tomorrow. This will be the third year that she has hunted. Unfortunately, she has not been able to harvest her first deer yet. I wish I had a positive outlook on things. Though I am very guarded on what to expect. I the deer management unit that I hunt we have a buck only harvest as a direct result of two hard back to back winters, no logging in the area and a visitor that I didn't want to see wander less than 10 yards from my tree stand. As for the weather forecast, should have a high of 25 degrees with a NW wind of about 15mph off of Lake Superior.

Good luck!
I know it can be discouraging at times but to me even a bad day hunting beats a good day at work. :)

Good luck, hope she can have everything come together for her.

As for the pic, wolves don't do deer any favors unfortunately.......

Good luck, Keith. Hmmmm. That deer looks suspiciously like a... Nah, couldn't be. There are no wolves in Wisconsin. Must be a really furry doe.

I thought it was a spike buck. :)

I shot the spike buck that masqueraded as a wolf! I wish I could also announce that my fiancé also got her first buck. However, that is not to be. On opening day I observed about 25 does and fawns and a flock of 8 turkeys. The highlights of sightings that my fiancé had were a coyote, bobcat, three bears and a wolf. not counting the does and fawns that all seemed to have received the memo that only bucks could be harvested.

P.s. I am trying to post some pictures, though I get the message that the image is too large

2015 Buck for Wis65x55.

Nice buck you got there. The body size is large that will provide lots of good table fare. Also,
very much like the view from the tree stand as well.

Congratulations on a nice buck. There is always next year for your fiancé.

Too bad your fiance didn't tag out but congrats on your buck mate.
I'll be pulling for her next year. :)

That sounds like a really great load in the 280... Any insights on how that 150 PT did, I mean other than the obviously stone dead buck

I hate to admit that I had a poor marksmanship demonstration that day  That is all that I will admit to. I will say this that I need a much bigger buck to stop the Partition when the initial shot was maybe 30 feet from a tree stand.

Congrats.

I am 2 hours south of you and had the worst deer season ever. 30 hours on my stand and I saw 3 deer. Very little shooting around me. I hope we have a mild winter.
