WTT/WTB Ruger 77 338 Federal

I'm not interested in any other caliber. Well, maybe a 358. No 338 Mag's ! Willing to trade, trade w/ cash, or straight purchase.

Certainly a neat cartridge; I love mine. Any reason you specify Ruger rather than, say, Tikka or Sako?

I have a Ruger 7/08 and love it. The 338 would make it, more or less, a matched set. I've handled and shot Sako's and don't like the feel. Tikka's, I just don't like the look.

I have a matched set of Hawkeyes in 35 Whelen and .358 Win. They are fine rifles, to be sure.

How are you with 338 Fed ammo or loading components?

Don't forget, you could get any 308/7-08 Hawkeye and send it off to JES for a rebore. I know you can pick the 308's up pretty reasonably and JES does a great job with his cut rifled rebores. Just another option..

Your best bet for a .338 Federal, is a Sako. Mine is a Sako 85.

Without doing a rebore or rebarrel you may be waiting awhile.
Ruger seems intent on developing their own proprietary cartridges that will likely go the way of the Dodo bird unless something has changed. Who wants a Ruger. 338 RCM?
