The same buddy who bought my Rem 7 in a 243 last year for his oldest daughter, who did shoot a cow elk. His youngest daughter 12 years old, shot a cinnamon color Black bear this week. It was over dogs and her load is what was used in that gun, RL17 and a 90gn Deep Curl.
I was told a hit behind shoulder with the exit at base of neck / shoulder on opposite side. A little surprised on an exit at 50 feet, but load was low book charge for the young gals. So far they have taken an elk, whitetail and now a bear with this gun and load.
I was going to move them to the 90AB which I have a good supply but ......

Sounds as if she is doing just fine with that load. Congratulations to the young lady. That has to make her daddy proud.

That's fantastic. The rifle and load are up to the tasks at hand.

That's awesome, sounds like a perfect load for that little 243.. Bears are tough customers, sounds like that Deep Curl does it again.

Great experience for a young hunter. The 243 kills all out of per portion to its size. Sounds like it was a great experience and great trophy
