I had the opportunity to do a little shooting today. I have not fired my WM since last november so I got it out to check POI. I made sure all screws were tight and then fired three shots prone, with bipod mounted at 300 yards. Group was 1 inch low and dead center to the target. Size was 2.47, not really bad for an old man and 48 year old push feed Model 70. I believe it was a inch low because of the weather conditions, 80% humidity and 75 degrees. I will run the numbers to make sure.

That's great shooting.

Nice shooting Bill!
Was that your 300 Win Mag?

Good shooting Bill! My 64 year old Model 70 is always on POI sight in when we have normal Washington weather. I don't worry about the other times

Yes it was JD, and really my first time in a while, prone. Hopefully I can get some more rounds down the tube here shortly, the weather is now an issue, and of course like all of us, all I have a few more projects to finish up, before I can concentrate 100% on my shooting.

Bill that group is nothing to sneeze at. I am sure you have a handle on it. Hope everything comes together for you & this fall is all about hunting .

Blessings,
Dan

Good to see that your rifle, ammunition and techniques are all up to snuff, Bill. Sounds as if you are ready for elk. Best of luck.

Nice! I was wondering if you were going to fire that old 300 at all! I figured you gave up on it for that 308!

I've gotta get my boy out a little this weekend and myself to shoot some as well. Finished up the big chores last week. It's about time to burn some powder.
