Just picked up a pound of IMR 4451 to try with 180 Noslers in my 30-06.

Any one have a good recipie?

I have found 56.6 gr of IMR 4451 under a 180 grain Partition to be very accurate and effective on Mule Deer and elk.. using Nosler cases and Federal 210 primers. Velocity runs about 2,730 fps out of a 24" barrel. In my Ruger #1 with a 22" barrel I drop about 30 fps. Good luck.

Thanks for the info
I have used IMR 4350 for years in my 30-06 at 55.0 with the same bullet
I just thought I might try this new powder 4451

I load 4451 for the 30-06 with 180 AB's and CCI primers. Very effective. I also have some 168 TTSX loads developed but they haven't been used on game yet.

While you get very little copper, the stuff is quite dirty unless you run it at the top accuracy node rather than the slower one in the data.

I experimented with IMR4551 and 180 grain Nosler Partitions. 55-55.3 grains seemed to perform the best in my 24" barreled rifles. My lot of IMR4451 probably different than Rol_P's.

Remington brass & CCI 200 primer, bullets seated around 0.015-0.02" off the lands. Velocity looked to be around 2670 fps or 2710 fps; my optical chronograph throws 40-50 fps difference between sunny and cloudy conditions.

I had indications of a low node around 53 grains, put three rounds into less than an inch at 175 yards with an average fps of 2555. 165 grain core-loct bullets seem to do well with 54-54.5 grains in the mid 2600 fps range; with Remington case and CCI 200 primers. These are my general purpose / plinking loads using IMR 4451 in a 30-06.

+2 on it leaving a lot of carbon in the barrel at lower velocities.

Thanks I have a good starting point 55 to 56 sounds like my old load with IMR 4350 with 180's.
