180 Accubond from almost 1100 yards

Ill have pics tomorrow since my camera is in my other pickup. But I dug it out of the ground next to a rock we were shooting at 1056 yards away. Muzzle velocity of 2900fps out of my 300WSM. I was impressed with the amount of expansion even from that distance. Found it about 8-10" deep.

Tell us your load... How many minutes?

68.5gr H4831 with mag primer and Federal brass. Not sure how many minutes. Was just screwing around with my new CDS scope and turned it until it stopped and still had to hold a couple feet over it. I finally just called Leupold and gave them my data to engrave the free turret. Should get me out to 650-700 yards with 100 yard zero and wont shoot at an animal that far until Ive practiced ALOT more.

That is pretty danged good for 1100 yards. Nothing to sneeze at, at all. Plus the BC is pretty good as well. Need to get a 300WSM and try them out! Scotty

That is great expansion at 1100 yds.

That would work quite well. There is still sufficient velocity to open the bullet.
