Doing some load development for my Mossberg MVP and wondering what powders to try initially. Mine is the 24” barrel varminter. Just loaded up some Hornady 55gr V-Max, 55gr Nosler CT and regular BT over H335. Twist rate is 1-9”. Thinking Varget and maybe 748?

In my Ruger American 223 I use H335 with Sierra 55gr BLC2 with 60 Nosler BT Tac with Nosler 60gr PT CFE223 with Nosler 50gr BT and Sierra 77gr BTHP Match H4895 with Hornady 55gr for reduced load. It's a 1 in 8 twist. Dan.

I've been having pretty good success with Benchmark in my AR.

55gr Hornady with 27-28grs of Win748 and a mag(or regular) primer has been super for me since 1970's.

Not the V-Max, but with the 55 Blitzking I settled on H335. Not the fastest, but accuracy was superb and speed is acceptable. Ramshot TAC was a very close second followed by AA2230. I should think any of them will do fine.

Really only ever used Benchmark, 4895, or IMR8208XBR.

The 55gr V-Max is looking good with H335.

The accuracy certainly appears to be present. Fine shooting.
