Beautiful Aoudad, congratulations

Congratulations. Details of the hunt and rifle please. What do you do with them as in are they good to eat or what?

A couple for the pot from the weekend. The rifle shot was from a 260rem at 190 yards with the 120nbt, match made in heaven. Straight into a rising sun, one of the more difficult shots I have made because it was blinding. The archery fallow was the darndest thing. I stalked up on three of them, got barked at twice but they couldn’t work out what I was. I ended up taking the shot at 52 yards lined up on the black fallow in the mob. On release of the arrow, the menil one takes a couple of steps and cops the arrow in the back of head, exiting out the left eye. Pole axed on the spot. Never had that happen before. The wind was miserable for hunting, so light and fickle.

Blessed with lots of meat.

Some pics from what a camping and hunting trip in my part of Australia looks like. I hunt private property and would have seen probably 40-50 red deer in three days. Biggest was 10 point red stag and called in an 8 pointer to within 40 yards before the wind changed and he trotted off. Also howled in a dog which my nephew missed with his new 45/70 at 30 yards in the torch light. I suspect that snappy little marlin might take a little mastering. Anyway the fridge has more venison topped up. The red does were taken with a 7mm08 and a Swede. 1775547164477.jpeg1775547140888.jpeg1775547017208.jpeg1775546994886.jpeg1775546772582.jpeg1775546724730.jpeg
