Soooo the Savage Ultralite with the Proof barrel, has been excellent. StaBall 6.5 (59.0 grs) Lapua brass and Fed210GM primers along with 168 grain Nosler ABLRs has shown to produce nice sub one inch groups easily! The ballistics are impressive as well with some serious long range energy.

New powders have definitely assisted the 35 Whelen for sure. Using CFE 223 I have lofted 225 grain Game Kings and Accubonds well over 2800 fps out of my 24" gain twist barrel. I could push more but why....its a hammer. The loads I worked up for the 200 grain TTSX were 2950 fps in the standard...

Several new powders are very effective CFE 223 has 225 grain loads over 2800 fps and Varget is just about 2800 fps with 225 grain Accubonds.

Rl-26 works very nicely.

I love the Whelen, load pretty much all 225 grain fodder, with Varget I did manage to hit 2800 fps and get the partitions and Accubonds to hit the same spot, bonus! Mine is a 24 inch gain twist on a Remington Action done by the oldest barrel make in Alberta, shes MOA with Sierra GK's...
