    30-06 M760 load?

I have an old model 760 pump and it is not picky, just don't load it to the top without carefully working up from below. The action is strong but you can stick a case in the action if you don't full length size and trim every time and don't load to the brim! I don't need a small base die either...

    .308 help

Cramer: Have you shot any factory load groups? If you have, were they better than your hand loads? The reason I'm asking is that maybe your rifle has some bedding problems or something other than your hand loads. That said I have a .270 that 140 SST's shot groups like you are talking while the...

    Brass age?

Anneal the brass, check for case separation with the long hooked wire method, and don't be surprised if the brass from the older rifle is to long on headspace or to short. To long, you can just push it back with full length die. To short and you will need to neck up first, then size to leave a...

Nosler AccuBond 190 report and Questions

I think all the others are correct, move the front rest back. I would like to add that if you have a big kicker hold straight down pressure on the fore-end, but don't touch the barrel when shooting for groups. This works for me on a rest like yours or from shooting sticks. The other thing I did...

    300 WBY load recipe

Mine likes the max load of R25 in Noslers #7 manual. I have taken several bull elk with this load and it shoots better than any load I have tried! 180 Accubond 86.5 gr Rl25 cci 250 primers loaded to magazine length Mine is a fast barrel as i get over 3200 fps!

    300 WBY load recipe

I have found the top load of Rl-25 with the 180 Accubond is the most accurate in my gun. I get a 3/4" group with this load and it is fast and accurate! All i ever use the gun for is elk and it does a fine job for that purpose. Nosler book #7 lists 86.5 grains at 3152, mine gets a little more!

    The BEST recoil pad???????

I had a 340 Wby and tried the Pach Decel pad along with several others. Kick-eez worked best, but it didn't stop the scope from biting me in the forehead! This rifle shot 5/8" groups with 200 BT's and 225 AB's. Kick-EEZ pads are hard to make look good and are not as durable as Decel. Decel...

    Burris custom Turret

The C4 does not have a zero stop so you can get a turn off if you aren't careful! What i did was take off the dial and found a M.O.A. dial under it. Got a windage cap from Burris and it screws on like a regular cap. When i need to dial, I just remove the cap and use the M.O.A. dial. If they...

Finding a level spot on action

OK, I see how this works! The scope is mounted already at what is supposed to be the top of the rifle and you line up with the barrel using the tool. I'm going to buy on and try it! Thanks again!

Finding a level spot on action

Thanks to all for the help. It still looks to me that in order for the tool shown to work the action needs to be level before proceeding. It seems to me the only level spot on a 700 action is the bolt raceway or the top of the mounted scope base. So if i am understanding the system, the action...

Finding a level spot on action

Not all model 700's are the same for me. A 270 win and 300 WM both come in easily with the level, level, level system. If you set up my son's 06 it just doesn't work! Not trusting the scope's turrets to be level, i double checked with the plumb bob and string. Same outcome. Maybe the stock is...

Finding a level spot on action

I have been having a bit of trouble making the reticle level with the action on some Remington 700's. Used Level, Level,Level and figured the bolt raceway level was not accurate, used a stainless steel rule on raceway in conjunction with a precision level and they were the same! Used a plumb...

    Maybe coming back?

I just went to a gun show Saturday and found quite a bit of different powders at one table! 50 bucks a pound, was 26 bucks downtown. These guys buying up all the stock to make a killing sucks and that is a big part of why supply is low. There is a group old old retired guys visiting the stores...

    .308 win loads

I got 2850 from Varget with less accuracy (1.25" Varget vs .380" for RL-15). Maybe I should play with Varget and the seating depth? Maybe just live with 2760 fps as it's just for targets and ranging practice with dials. Maybe add a little more powder? It's no big deal as I won't ever hunt big...

    .308 win loads

I need to try another lot # of RL-15, maybe i got a slow batch? I will also try 165's with both powders. I just hate to give up on the tiny groups provided by 150's and RL-15. Anyone tried the new IMR Enduron powders yet?
