The 175 LRAB
The 160 gr LRX
I have the most bullets on hand above.
I am going to start and get my brass fireformed to my chamber with 162 A-Max's.
Once I have 100 rounds through it, I will start with either the 168 LRAB or the 160 LRX

For SA my shots will not be over 500 yards.
But, I have had serious winds the last time (on one day hunting a Blesbuck) I was there, so a reasonable BC is important.

The 168 LR AB G1 BC @ .616 and the 160 LRX .608 G1 BC.
I could go with the 175 grain LR AB with a .648 BC, but I will need to see how much recoil it has for odd positional shooting.

I will be shooting the 6.5 PRC with 142 LR AB's in my 6.5 PRC in all likelihood on other days. Taking a difference one each day!

Both barrels are in the 15.875" and 15.9" lengths

That is our son, Erik after he just turned 17, a little over 13 years ago.
Remington brass, that had been lightly neck turned, and all the other things you would do to cheap brass to make it better, H-1000, Fed 210M's, and the 162 Grain A-Max. Later in that year he took a antelope with it at either 650ish or 750ish ( I can't remember right now), but it was one and done.

It was his favorite XP-100.

I am setting up for a hunt in South Africa in the summer of 2026, and I want a more heavily constructed bullet than the M, although I love that bullet for big game through mule deer size. Elk if I limit myself to double lung.
I took the 180 grain Berger hybrid the last time I went to Africa and its performance was not what I wanted it to be. I’ve pretty much quit using it as a big game hunting bullet.
I love the bullet for other things though.

How is the load development for this pistol coming along? Do you have any targets to show yet?
