My mom killed her buck opening morning, bedded at 240 yards. Nice little 3x4. We spotted him just on the edge of some timber from about 1/2 mile and made a game plan to sneak into range. We snuck up the opposite ridge, peeked over and set up my 7-300 Win Mag w/180g ELDMs at 3K, prone on the harris bipod and a range finder case for the rear bag. Set the 5.5-22x NXS to 16x and she had a perfect broadside shoulder shot. I told her to just squeeze the trigger and boom! I heard the 180g ELDM hit home and the buck just slumped his head over. We found the 180g ELDM just under the far side hide after completely smashing through the front shoulders, and leaving a 3" hole along the way.
