Up until recent bullet technology the .270 Win was generally labeled too light for elk, especially with 130 gr bullets. As the wonder bullets got into the field and usage data came back, conventional wisdom matured (as it were) the the .270 Win with 150 gr is generally blessed now. Of course...

I took a quick look through, but didn't find any Nosler rifles. The .300 SAUM from the Rem Custom shop is interesting, but not at $2,100 to start. jim

The barrel twist is 1 turn in 20" and it is cut-rifled. ID is .451 and the grooves are 35 thou deep. I will have to measure the barrel when it arrives...jim
