I have known "A" for several years now so I feel comfortable knowing, that she will know, my intent here.
Maerick2 and Europe, forget "J", I want on "A's" christmas list (-;
Back to the point of the thread. I love the Dakota rifles but after looking at the link posted by Fotis and Guy's...
camohunter, if your shots will be under 200 yards and I am sure they will, the 200 gr or even the 220gr out of the 300 H/H are real hammers. you will not find one in the animal. The 180 will work just fine however, but like Cheyenne we use the 200 and sometimes even the 220 in the 300 H/H, but...
Pat,
You will absolutely love hunting that area. Remember when I was telling you about us hunting New Mexico a lot when we lived in El Paso, this was one of our favorite areas. Also dont forget to check out the reservations, sometimes we were able to get a cow hunt on the cheap. Just get on...

someone is getting a 325wsm BLR with a pistol grip, ( unfortunately it is not me ) but they are in the Mackenzie mountain range.
They had ask Scotty which of the following bullets would work
Nosler PT 200
Swift A Frame, 200, 220
Northfork, 200, 220
Woodleigh 196,220, 250
I think Scotty...
Scotty,
this is kind of funny, everywhere you go today someone is talking about the 325 WSM, maybe it means you should get one. Would you consider that BLR, or only a bolt for you
Interesting, good thread gerry. Now that GS Custom has a plant in the states, who is using their product ?, gerry, can you get their bullets in Canada, easily. Do they have a distributor in Canada. We do use and like the Woodleigh bullets. Anyway, I am another who agrees with your thinking...
Hodgeman
I know the manager at the Anchorage store so I called him and he had not heard of them and said his store did not represent or sell rifles for anyone with the spelling I gave him. Maybe the Fairbanks store might know, if you call them. I ask a couple of old timers and they did not...
It does look nice Scotty. That rifle, scope and ammo should be all that he will need for your Elk hunt next year, and/or whatever else he wants to hunt. It was very nice of your friend, santa and you to do all this for him. Lucky young man
My son said something a little off color recently when discussing joule's. his sister who is a year older, but they are both teenager's, said " we are discussing Joule's and your thinking "Jolie" ( Angelina)"
Hodgeman, did this thread get seriously derailed . I am another meat and potato...
I appreciate all the work you did in making this happen Jamila. Please tell your parents I said hello and thank them for me. I am not as well spoken as Dr Mike, but I do agree with everything he said in his post.
Jamila,
Thank you, you are a very determined young lady and it is not hard to understand why Jerry and Aleena put you in charge of their business, while they are gone.
Please also thank you mother and father and give them my best.
I am looking forward to putting the Oryx bullets to good use...
Bear has pretty much summed it up well with his posts. No one in our family hunts them with a 22-250, but with whatever gun they are using for whatever game they are hunting, but it is always a larger caliber than 22-250
I would certainly think if wolves are all your hunting a 22-250 would be...
+1 Hunting a coastal bear,,in the alders, is a totally different experience than hunting a grizzly in the mountains. Hodgeman, adequately described it--"pucker factor was not even close to adequate"
Jamila
Thank you for your kind consideration in giving us a "heads up". And please thank you mother and father for their kindness in getting these bullets to us.
We did receive the Rhino, but have not yet had time to work with them and we are also looking forward to working with the GSC...
