A friend of mine asked me if I'd ever heard of Ferris (not sure on spelling...maybe Farris or Pharis?) rifles... apparently a maker of semi custom rifles sold through Sportsmans Warehouse?

My Google-Fu was weak and I came up with nothing...but I figure if it goes bang someone here will know about it.

I came up with Ferris Pendal custom bench rest rifles when I googled it. Not sure if that's what your looking for.

Sir

Fanzoj makes custom single and double rifles in Austria. I do not know if they have companies who sell them in the United States. They do have stores in Africa and England, but I believe they are owned by the parent company

Since you were not sure of the spelling I thought I would mention it to you

Full name of company is. Johann Fanzoj

Best Regards

I know the manager at the Anchorage store so I called him and he had not heard of them and said his store did not represent or sell rifles for anyone with the spelling I gave him. Maybe the Fairbanks store might know, if you call them. I ask a couple of old timers and they did not know --sorry, no luck

However, I did look up the company Jamila was talking about and I think you should definitely have one of their guns in your gun safe---you too Scotty LOL

Phew, could you picture that on the elk mountain.. I'd be scared to carry that in my Pelican case, in my truck let alone in the elk mountains..

They are art though. What a rifle..

As much as I would love a stalking rifle like that I think the wife would divorce me as it cost as much as our house.
No harm in window shopping though. They are definitely gorgeous. :)

I love rifles of that quality and workmanship, they are works of art. However as a practical man I know that I would never take one outside. I would not want to scratch it or harm it in any way. Besides they won't kill any better than a Remington, or Winchester, or Savage, or ? My practical side always win's.

Yeah those in the reference are amazing, the reference was something more pedestrian for sure. I'm beginning to think that my friend misheard something or other. If it goes bang- you fellows (and ladies) would know about it and so far nothing that matches the description.

I'm beginning to think he should have heard Forbes perhaps- a light rifle with great accuracy.
