Hey Nosler,
Please bring back the 250 gr 9.3mm Ballistic Tip. I promise to buy lots of the them for practice and shooting lighter game. The AB is just too expensive to buy for practice. I think you'll make plenty of money doing so. You already have the tooling for it; right?

Elmer,
That stock is going to be incredibly beautiful. I honestly believe it's going to look better than my Pre 64 M70 stock on 257 Roberts.
I shoot two 6.5x47's; both have 26" barrels. My competition/sniper rifle uses the 130 Berger VLD, CCI 450 primers running 40.8 gr of H4350 for...
No one is getting younger. I'd do a sheep hunt that would give you as much leeway to punch a moose and/or bear if one came along.
The North slope would be my pick of areas.

Both H110 and Lil'Gun will work great with the heavy 45 cal bullets. I've pushed the 335 gr LBT WFN to 1150 fps with book max load of Lil'Gun in the 4-5/8" NMBH and took a 62" bull moose @ 15 yds in Alaska in 2008. I now use H110 for my 285 gr LBT WFN and run it around 1200 fps. And yes, the...
I don't own nor have shot a 35 Whelen. I've owned and currently own the big brother to the 35 Whelen, the 9.3x62. I tried IMR 8208 with the 250 Accubonds and had excellent results, accuracy wise, with the combo.
But the velocity, compared to Varget, was not there.

On my quest for the Holy Grail in my new 257 Roberts; 1:10 twist, 24" Krieger. Starting to wonder about the 115 and 120 gr Partitions. Other than the obvious 5 gr difference, .002 BC difference and .011 SD difference, what would help a guy decide on one over the other. My intended quarry is...
Dr. Mike,
Just sent you a PM asking you a question how your IMR 8208 and 100 e-tip combo worked.
So far I've been really focusing on the e-tips as I had purchased 600 of them. My CED M2 chron was not working for a couple of range sessions so some of my results are inconclusive.
Also, I...

I want to run a scenario past you.
You're in Alaska on a guided hunt. You have a Grizzly tag in your pocket and it is the intneded game. The weather is pleasant, mild breeze from in your face. Your relaxed, sitting next to your guide who has his 40+ caliber bear medicine with open sights...
Here is a test I ran last fall, 2007.
30-06 Ackley
180 Nos AB
68.5 gr Rel 25
Win brass
Fed 210M primer
Rem 700, 26" ss Lilja barrel
2997 fps @ 6200' elev.
Each morning I would run up the canyon behind my house and shoot a 3-shot group from 100 yds. 1st shot cold but fouled barrel, 2nd and...
Old #7,
If the 'smith who did the work, did it correctly, their should be .004" crush fit........that's the beauty of the AI. That's why I'm taking it with me to Alaska this Sept for Grizzly......if the airlines loose my ammo, I'd still be able to buy standard 30-06 ammo and have my rifle up...
I had one of the originals. Serial # 757. Had ordered a 45 ACP barrel/slide, 22 barrel/slide as well. Ordered it throgh a dealer out of Gilbert, AZ. I lost my shirt on that deal. Only took possession of the basic gun, never saw mags or extra barrel/slides. The dealer got my money and no...
With my 26" Lilja '06 AI barrel, my best loads run thusly.
180 BT/AB seated .015" off lands, Win case, Fed 210M primer, 68.5 gr Rel 25 for 2997 fps. Shoots 4-5" 3 shot groups @ 800 yds. Utah spike elk didn't like the AB @ 225 yds this past fall. I can go upto 71 gr and 3100 fps.
200 Partion...
Picked up 5 boxes of 286 gr Part's and 1 lb of Big Game. Placed an order w/ Graff's this am for all the stuff necessary to load up, clean up, scope up and carry the whole kitten-ka-boodle to Alaska. Now, just need to buy the rifle.
Talke about puttin the cart before the horse!
