shooters/hunters and friends of the .270Weatherby.

I totally love the 270 bee. I have had a pile of them, and whenever I sell or trade one in, another 270 bee is coming home with me. Moose, elk or whatever doesn't stay on its feet when properly applied. I've never had to whack something twice with it. It is a total howl shooting gophers with it...

    Which primers?

WLRM in everything. Tried them all, and am happy with Winchester. I find them more consistant with ignition and deviation.

.340 Weatherby on the way. need load suggestions

Mine liked IMR 7828 and 250 grain. It would shoot the 200's extremely well too, but its sweet spot was the 250 grain.

Always follow up even if you feel you missed !!!!

Nice shooting on the yote. They are tough customers for sure. I took one out at 550 yards with a 130 grain hollowpoint Speer out of the 300 Win mag.The bullet hit the ribs on the right side, traveled the length of him, blew off the hind leg on the left side, and he took off. Found him a couple...

Model 71 348 drops its first deer

Congrats on the buck. I hunted with a model 71 winnie deluxe for a while, until I sold it in a weak moment. Great for everything at short range on this continent. The fellow that got it sold it because he said that the recoil was unpleasant. I found it comfortable to shoot.

    25-06 results

IMO the 25 06 is one of the best for deer sized game. Performance has always been stellar. Bang flop. I've had lots of them take off when hit with the 300, 338, 270 Wby etc, but the 25 06 always flattened em with authority. I settled on the 120 grain, and it plain works. I load 120's for a...

    Ready for the elk!

That thing looks real slick. An old buzzard like me could really appreciate one of those.

130 PT, and 140 AB Chem jug test.

Great performance from both. I am partial to the IMR 7828 in the Weatherby. I have found it very consistant. The bee doesn't care if it is 130's 140's or 150's. The intended target never knows the difference, and I hardly ever find a bullet. 130 partitions whistle through elk. 150's pass through...
