    6.5 x 284

What is the twist rate of the barrel and what will you use it for? The 130 AB should be a great bullet for most hunting applications if it has a standard twist rate barrel. If it has a 8 or 9 twist barrel you may find the 140's to be better if you want to use higher BC bullets for the 500+ yard...

    Biathlon!

The biathlon and nordic skiing events are about the only things I watch. Both my son and daughter were involved with these events back in their high school days. Nordic skiing is the most demanding sport I have ever done (used to do triathlons), and I don't know how anyone can get their...

    Ranking importance of reloading factors

Answer to your accuracy question: Ultimate accuracy starts with your choice of caliber. If you are choosing the rifle for target shooting rather than hunting, different elements apply. As others have said, what is the intended purpose. Hunting rifle for 400 yard and closer hunting on big game...

    Neck Tension Question

Do you have a concentricity guage? If you do, check a case after you resize and see how much runout you have in the neck. How is your bushing die set up for a shoulder bump? You should not have to worry about turning necks if the chamber is .271 unless the bore is not aligned properly. Some guys...

    Tahr/New Zealand

Is this the only caliber allowed, or will they accept equivalents such as 300 WM or 300 WSM? I will be going there next year for red stag and tahr.

Boat tail VS flat base....is one generally more accurate

Two areas of thought to come from on this topic, and they relate to what the intended purpose of the bullet is. Most 100 - 300 yard benchrest shooters use light flatbase bullets with slow twist barrels. If they didn't shoot better I doubt the guys would be using them. Long range...

    premier 5-25x56

I had a premier 3-15X50 that I sold this fall that had the best glass (I have looked through or shot all of the best) of any scope I have ever used. S&B and Premier are the two best scopes to my eyes in a FFP scope. The 5-25 Premier is a $3500 scope, so it better be good.

    Winter practice

Yes, this is the club. You don't need to be a member to shoot the Saturday events. Look on the calendar for the dates they have coming up. I'm a member of the Elk River Sportsmans Club, so I wouldn't want to be a member there. We will be putting in heated 300 and 600 yard plexiglass buildings to...

    Leupold Deltapoint

I have one on a Rock River .223...quick acquisition of the target and no problems with it moving on me after several 100 rounds.

    Winter practice

WT - I share your pain on finding places to shoot this time of year. As others mentioned, see if there are any ranges that may be indoors or maybe indoors that open to an outdoor target. We have a range about 20 miles from my house that we shoot 300 yards every other Saturday. You are shooting...

What diff can a pressure point make? 378 at the range

Might want to check the battery out. I have used mine on bright days to see if it was usable, and could see the red on the higher settings. How far in front of the recoil lug did you put the o-ring? I have tried the same idea using a business card at different points in front of the recoil lug...

6mm BR Norma Chronograph Results (discouraging)

Do you use a bushing die or regular die with a button? Did you check the thickness of the necks to ensure they were all the same along with the weights? The reason for asking is that those two factors will effect ES quite a bit even if you have an accurate load. Even neck tension, so the bullet...

    Christmas rifle

Scott did a great job on finishing it up the way it looks from here. I sure hope it was close to what you were hoping one would look like if you were building it yourself. Looking forward to seeing how it shoots once you get the base and rings on it.

    Range Report 6mm BR Norma

Closest I have ever come to a true one-hole group Mike. I tried to figure out how to measure it for size, but the hole measured .243 on the caliper. I'm sure some of the benchrest guys know how to take it out several more decimal points when they are shooting ags for their competitions.

    Range Report 6mm BR Norma

Great caliber and nice groups! I had two 6BR Norma chambers (one was turned into a BRX this fall), with one rifle liking BR4 primers and 30.4 grains of Varget and the other using 450 primers and 30 grains of Varget. I doubt you will be at 2900 with the 105 and a 27" barrel, but maybe you have a...
