Picked up the 6BR from the smith yesterday and took it out with my buddy today. After running a few rounds through it for a small break in, we both shot a group. I fired a three shot group that measured 0.136. He then shot a group and had a shot go off before he was ready (that 1.5 oz. trigger is a bit touchy) so he fired a fourth shot as a mulligan to try to salvage the group. He put it right in the group. His group measured 0.144. I'm very pleased with the rifle. I did research and found most guys shooting the 105 Berger Hybrids were loading about 30.0 grains of Varget and seating them about 0.015" off the rifling, so that's what I loaded. Lapua cases with no prep other than weight sorting, just primed them and loaded them. I'm done playing with loads (easiest load work up I've ever done). Not sure of speed, forgot the chord to my chronograph, but I think they are probably running around 2,900 with a 27" barrel. With that 36x leupold, I found that a dot about .22 caliber was a good aim point at 100 yards. It's a lot more scope than I'm used to. Gotta load some more so I can stretch it out and see what it does. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this rifle!

Very nice other than the purple (I am a Packers fan so no Viking purple for me). I hope mine shoots close to that. I loaded up my first rounds for it today.

29.5 gr Varget
107 gr Sierras .012" into the lands
Lapua brass with .002" neck tension
Rem 7 1/2 primer

I can't wait to shoot it.

Cool, even with the purple stock! :) Those cases just ooze an aura of precision. Good work!

Rifles like that just naturally cause a feller to smile. Great shooting that shows a rifle to its true potential.

Great caliber and nice groups! I had two 6BR Norma chambers (one was turned into a BRX this fall), with one rifle liking BR4 primers and 30.4 grains of Varget and the other using 450 primers and 30 grains of Varget. I doubt you will be at 2900 with the 105 and a 27" barrel, but maybe you have a faster barrel than what I have experienced.

Here is a 5 shot group from this summer during load work:

That is certainly enviable, Joel. Excellent riflery, showing a fine weapon to its potential.

Closest I have ever come to a true one-hole group Mike. I tried to figure out how to measure it for size, but the hole measured .243 on the caliper. I'm sure some of the benchrest guys know how to take it out several more decimal points when they are shooting ags for their competitions.

WOW, there is not doubt that rifle is a shooter. Congratulations on a great rifle. Of course your shooting skills also contribute to those tiny little groups. Great job!!!!

Yikes, those guns are accurate. Must be a joy to shoot too only using around 30 gr of powder.

G'Day Fella's,

300WM, you must be happy with that!
Man that is one very impressive (in All aspects) rifle!!!

By the way, whats that White Stuff on the ground?
Only kidding, Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!
For a contrast, it was 38 Degrees C or 100 Degrees F, here on Friday!
Quite a contrast!!!

Doh!

Oh, sure, rub it in! It's easier to ski on snow than on sand, I can tell you.

G'Day Fella's,

Dr Mike, coming down the side of a sand hill (on a board), ya just let gravity have its way with!
Mind you, if your lucky a big sand hill might be 100Yards long, not much compared to a a couple of thousand feet of snow covered mountain!!!

Doh!
