I got a 200lb (ish) feral pig over the weekend. Shot her in dense cover at about 20 paces with a 165 grain Accubond in a 308. The entrance was just between the left ear and left shoulder. About an inch lower than my point of aim. Forgot that my line of sight would be higher than the bullet...

I have a Remington SPS Tactical in .308 with a 20” barrel. 1-10 twist, I believe. It shoots really good with 168 grain Hornady Match HPBT. I’ve taken an antelope with it using a 168 grain Amax. But I’m going after pigs, and I worry the Amax may not be up to the job. What do you guys...

Take them both. I don't see that the difference lies with the rifles and their respective cartridges. It looks to me like you have more confidence in the RUM because of the optics. Put a similar scope on the .270 and increase your confidence to 100%. Sent from the Edge of my Galaxy.
