280 Remington 160 gr load advice

Another vote for IMR7828 with 160 gr. I don't have the load date in front of me but I believe my best load is 59gr IMR7828 with a 160gr Accubond. No pressure signs in my rifle but I know it is a couple grains over max load in the most recent Nosler manual. I think 59.5gr was max two manuals ago.

    Found my 338 load

I did not chrono these loads but I used 71.5gr imr4350 for the 225gr. These were the only two loads I've tried so far. I plan on trying RL19 for the 225's once I'm able to find some.

    Found my 338 load

Thanks guys. I now have to find a suitable optic for this rifle. I threw on a cheap scope so I could get it to the range.

    Found my 338 load

Santa was gracious enough to bring me a TC Venture in 338 WM for Christmas. I knew I was getting it so I ordered some 210gr and 225gr Partitions from SPS. My first load with the 210gr Partitions produced this group at 100 yards. Needless to say, I think I'm done with the 210gr workup...

    Even veterans make mistakes

Years back, a buddy of my buddy showed up at a farm we hunted with a 7mmSTW he won. He pulled out a box of 7mmRM shells. When I pointed out he had the wrong ammo, he stated, "I know, the STW's are too expensive so I just shoot the 7mm Rem Mags out of it. Needless to say, I never hunted around...

    New loading bench?

Here is mine. It's approx. 34" high, made of 2x4s. The top is 3/4" plywood with a 1/4" layer of masonite on top. I have a smaller bench for my sizers for cast bullets and another smaller one with two shotgun presses mounted.

    270 WIN & 140 gr NAB

My 270 loves AA3100 (56 grains) with 140gr bullets and CCI200 primers. It consistently shoots 1/2" and smaller 3 shot 100 yd groups with both 140gr SST's and Accubonds

Accuracy and Velocity Loading 160 gr Accubonds for .280 Rem

found the same results using IMR 7828 and 160 accubonds. I actually went up to 59.5gr with no pressure sign until I shot them on a 90+ degree day (light extractor marks on brass). I've since dropped to 59gr and it retained the accuracy. I have not chrono'd them but I'm sure they are moving...

    My 35 Whelen

Finally got to the range with my CDL in 35 Whelen and it's new scope. I ended up going with a Nitrex 3-9. Bought the gun a while back and threw a cheap simmons on it just so I could shoot it until I got a better scope. The Simmons lasted two rounds. The first two shots touched. The next...

    Factory Blemish Bullet Sale

They are Hornady's. I ordered several 140gr .277's and 95gr .243's thinking they may be Noslers. When they came in, they all had red tips.

    338 Federal

I have a hawkeye in 338 Federal and was a little frustrated with it at first. It does not like lighter bullets. I found a load using H4895 and 215gr Sierra's that brought it sub MOA. I then tried Leverevolution Powder. I gained some speed and retained accuracy. Can't remember the charge...

    280 question

I like it. I also have one in 7mm mag. Have not messed with the 7mm much with heavier bullets but it will shoot 140gr core lokts as good as the 280 shoots the 160 accubonds. I need to find an accurate load with heavier bullets for it. I also plan on getting one in 300wsm in weathershield...

    280 question

Already have the RL15 and two boxes of 225gr Ballistic Tips. Bought the last two boxes a shop had. Figured I'd mess with them then switch to Accubonds. I also have 250gr Speer Hot Cores. I actually loaded and shot a few the other day. I have not decided on a scope for the gun yet but wanted...

    280 question

I'm hoping to get out this week and chronograph the load. It was 85 degrees when I shot so I should be OK. I've been reloading for over 15 years and have always followed published data. Just a little nervous going over 5 grains in the latest manual. Now it's time to move onto the next...

    280 question

Picked up a 280 Venture a few months ago. Worked up a 140gr Accubond load and used it to kill a hog in South Carolina in May. I wanted to try out heavier bullets. I loaded up 150gr Ballistic tips. Here's the target. The first two shots (100 yards) were on the right. I moved left two clicks...

where have the 180gr accubonds gone?

I am having a hard time finding 180gr. 30cal accubonds. The local gun stores are out and the major online dealers are out, back-ordered. Has nosler had problems keeping up with demand or did they take a break making them?
