Pocket rockets... always understood they have their place in the world, just never liked the idea of depending on something so.....weak.
But, things change, situations change - and we gotta adapt or get left behind.
After my heart attack a while back I've been talking a long look at how I...
I'm still not really that interested in hunting, but since the heart attack, I need the meat... and my teenage son is really looking forward to it.
So I'll be dusting off the ole M48 280AI in a few days when I get some energy back.
Looking to put at least 4 in the freezer for ground meat for...
I've read that some shotguns don't like it much... mine isn't one of them.
The best 00 pattern at 15 yards without Flite Control in my shotgun has been almost 13 inches... that was Winchester Super X buffered 9 pellet full power.
Federal Flite Control 9 pellet 00 low recoil shoots 2 inch...
In case you're ever attacked in your home by pizza boxes wearing kids coveralls.... this info could safe your life 🤣
Shot from 15 paces, likely about 15 meters, 12 gauge Remington XLR 1 1/4 oz. #2 lead bird shot round...advertised at 1,330 fps on the box, does 1,255 fps from my 18.5 inch...
With age, comes change...
I'm not that old, 49, and my vision is still correctable to 20/15 in both eyes... but front sights and red dots are... well... more complicated than they used to be.
Realizing that my AR with the CompM4 optic wasn't as quick and accurate as it used to be....I got a...
Picked up another wheel gun yesterday....S&W 686 Performance Center, 4 inch, 6 shot.
I went looking for a 4 inch 686 plus, but nobody had any... was about to take a 6 inch until I noticed the barrel was slightly off (not clocked just right, wasn't off much but it was off).
I handed it back and...
Finally got the boat I ordered 5 months ago, Suntracker Bass Buggy 18 with a 75 hp Mercury 4 stroke.
Still got some modifications to do to make it a proper catfishing machine....a remote controlled trolling motor, batteries, lights, etc.

Wasn't even looking for a new truck....but I fell victim to the year end sales.
Noticed this truck sitting on the lot marked down $11,000.... pulled in for a closer look, and traded the Nissan Frontier Pro4X in on it.
It's a 2018 (still new) and they're starting to get 2020's in so they wanted...
The M48 Custom is chugging right along doing what it does without any fuss.
Took a big ole doe at 550 yards today, my 12 year old son was on the trigger.... quartering away...bang, flop....160 grain Accubond entered about halfway back on the right side, exited in front of the shoulder on the...
My son wants to use the Henry tomorrow, its the juvenile hunt, we're hoping to get 2 does this weekend.
We're going to take both rifles, the Henry and his 7mm-08...in case the deer show up out of reach of the 41 mag, he'll be able to get it done.

These 2 bullets weigh the same... but the similarity ends there.
The Swift bullet is .726" long, the XTP is .673"... the nose of the bullet is shorter on the Swift, so it seats way deeper into the case.
The XTP seated to the front of the cannelure will have an overall length of around 1.585"...
Ordered a Henry Big Boy Steel Carbine in 41 Mag last night.
Been eyeing them for a while, thought it'd make a nice companion for the 41 Mag Blackhawk.
Found a reasonable deal on Gunbroker... Free shipping, no sales tax.... so it'll come to $670 after my FFL's transfer fee.
Can't wait to try...
After much research and deliberation I've found a nice easy shooting practice round for the 357's.
Starline 357 mag brass
Small pistol magnum primer (standard primer would be fine too)
4.5 grains of Titegroup powder
125 grain semi jacketed hollow point bullet
I had 357 brass and mag primers...
31 pound blue cat... She was released alive and well after the picture.
He doesn't look happy in the picture, but he is... He just wasn't real crazy about trying to hold that fish, it was trying to flop around a bit on him.
Hard to hold a fish that size when it wants to wrestle, lol.
I've wanted one for a long time, just never pulled the trigger until now.
I got a 12" round gong (3/8") and the hardware to make a stand from 2x4's from Shoot Steel.
I'm gonna hang it from rubber instead of chains, I have some fairly heavy belting I'm going to cut the "rubber chains" from...
My wife has a 1976 model 10 she inherited from her Grandad, it is one of the less common 2.5" versions.
He was a LEO and later a constable, he carried and used this pistol for many, many years. Its had a few rounds through it, still looks pretty good considering its age and life but is pretty...
Never really cared for wheelguns, not sure why (capacity envy maybe? )... But after getting the Blackhawk 41 mag I looked at them in a different light.
Just had to have one... Got a Ruger Sp101 357 mag with the 3" barrel... Awesome little powerhouse, shoots to point of aim, very good trigger...
Like new in box, 1998 production....Ruger New Model Blackhawk, 6.5 inch barrel.
I went in there with every intention of ordering a Super Blackhawk 44 Bisley Hunter... But then I saw the 41 on consignment and made the mistake of asking to see it.
Not too big and heavy, not too little (weak)...
