270 WSM. A 130 gr Interbond going 3360 FPS kills stuff where it stands. I guess I will be different and say I dont know why anybody would have a 7mm when the 270 WSM does everyhting it can do, on a short action.
Kimber 8400 Classic in 270 WSM topped with a Sightron SII Big Sky 3-9x42. Spits 130 gr Interbonds into 1/2" groups @ 3360 FPS and kills stuff where it stands.
My Lyman manual gives a max load of 63 gr of RL22 for 3058 FPS with a 150 gr. If that info is accurate (most loads I have tried out of that manual are close) your 59 gr load should be doing close to what it is. That manual says 59.5 gr as a starting load. My favorite load is 67 gr of RL19...
I know a guy who had a 700 in 7 SAUM that had the same problem. His smith said Remmy didnt run a finishing reamer deep enough in the chamber, and that it was rough around the shoulder of the chamber. He polished it out and all is well now.
That is a nice setup! I was going to do a build in .358 Win on a model 70 action, but you have got me thinking that I might be able to save a few bucks and get as good results. What does your rifle weigh all up?
