What to do with all the trophies?

Actually cloverleaf is suggesting exactly what I have been doing. A good friend is a biology teacher in PA. I send her antlers, horns, hides, boiled skulls and dried feet from most of the birds I have taken. The kids love them because most have never seen a lot of them and they are good...

What to do with all the trophies?

I think you should build a cabin in the woods for all your trophies and then invite us all up for a hunt...

    Leupold VX-R ?

Guy, just an FYI, but I have a Bushnell 1.25-4 30mm with illuminated dot which I used on a .375 H&H Sako. The 1.25x worked great for both eyes open in heavy cover. The Leupold with a 1.5x bottom should do the same for your purpose. Best

    First ammo you loaded?

First helped a neighbor reload a .270 as I recall in about 1962. He gave me an older Lyman manual which I still have today. Bought my first big game rifle, a Centurion Mauser in .257 Bob which I had to sell in college (along with my 1955 Chevy Belair sport coupe...) Started reloading...

Tikka T3 Lite in 300 WM loads

Thanks guys. That gets me a couple of good places to start. I have already replaced the skinny recoil pad with a Limbsaver and it made a very noticeable difference. At my 65 years, the weight of the gun to carry all day is more important than the recoil of one or two shots. I probably would...

Tikka T3 Lite in 300 WM loads

Anyone with any experience reloading a Tikka T3 Lite in 300 WM using 165 or 180 gr bullets?

    Rifle damage using Lead Sleds!

Interesting. I used a Leadsled to test loads in a Sako 375 H&H with not an issue. I now am breaking in a Tikka T3 Lite SS in 300 WM. So far, so good. We'll see. In clarifying I use one to break in a rifle, test loads, but final sight-in is off the shoulder from sand bags at 100, 200 and...

    The future of our industry?

Of course I have to put in my $.02. Growing up in Texas I got a .22 single shot in 1953 when I turned 6. I could only use it while my dad was there to control things and teach me how. It seemed to work for me. Things were much more rural. I learned to use it on my grandparent's farm on...

Could this be the real reason we can't find anything?

    Loading up

Sask boy, my wife loved the story about how flat it is there, your dog running away and how you can still see it 3 days later!!! You Canadians are one tough bunch. Every time we have been there, we have been treated wonderfully. Not as good in Canada east though.

    243 with 18" barrel

Buckfever, I have been loading 43.5 gr H4350 for years behind several different 85 gr bullets (Sierra, Nosler BT, Hornady 87gr, etc) and it always shoots very well. A friend shot it for the first time from his Remington heavy barrel using 85 gr Bergers and it cloverleafed 3 rounds at 200 yds...

    Calipers

Oldtrader3, my dad retired from the Fort Worth, TX division of General Dynamic after 36 years in 1978. He was a manager in the tooling dept. The last plane he did work on I believe YF15. Geez you're an old geezer! Tools/guns are beautiful mechanical instruments.

    MagPul Leavimng Colorado...

A friend who works for Magpul has been trying to get me to come out of retirement and do some manufacturing engineering work for them. If I were just a few years younger I'd consider it an honor. Unfortunately I only have so many healthy years left to complete my bucket list. My friend at...

    Calipers

Take care of your Mitutoyo calipers and they will do the job for many many years. My oldest calipers are maybe 60 years old and work just fine still. Most of mine are inherited from a long gone uncle, but some from my past life (retired engineer): 1", 2", 4", 6" B&S micrometers, 4" Mitutoyo...

    Good bye Colorado

We can thank George Soros and Michael Bloomberg (17th richest man in the world). They believe we should all do as they say and obviously not as they do (they have many armed guards around them 24/7). But then they can afford it. They seem to have a "grand world plan" that they will push...

    Good bye Colorado

DrMike, Weld Cty is the largest in Colorado. Greeley is the largest community. Burris scopes and Stiener marketing are based in Greeley. They are both owned by Beretta. I will be very surprised if the Beretta family doesn't move them out of state just as they did the pistol manufacturing...

    Good bye Colorado

I moved to Colorado 35 years ago for the hunting and fishing. I lived in the mountains out of The People's Republic for years and when I retired in 1999 I wanted to move to WY, but the little woman wanted to stay close to the daughter. Colorado was more right until a few years ago when...

    Kodiak brown bear recommendation

This was my second and last attempt to take a Kodiak brown bear. I have to save the rest of my funds for the other items on my bucket list. Logistics are you line up a guide then apply for the area raffle months ahead of time utilizing the guide’s contract. There is both a spring and fall...
