I go by + or - 1% of the average rather than a certain grain. If you use 1 grain to cull brass you will cull a lot more smaller cases like .223 & .22-250 than you will larger cases such as .30-06 or the magnums. Your average is 153.2gr and 1% of that is 1.53gr.

Since you know what the charge is, the bullet and the cartridge, you could look up the various stick powders recommended for the cartridge and see what is listed for that bullet weight and charge weight. Just by eyeballing it I'd be tempted to say it's H-4831SC.

Does anyone know what the twist rate is for a mid-1970's Ruger Model 77 in 7mm Rem Mag? A friend of mine wants to use 165gr bullets in his but I'm not sure if they will stabilize. I know it hates the 175gr bullets.

There is a fairly big variation out there. I use a Leupold Vari-X II 6-18X40 AO but many like a higher variable power maginification while other like a high fixed power. The most common brands are Leupold, Burris, Weaver, Nikon, Nightforce, Sightron and Zeiss.
