Probably been asked a dozen times already, but does anyone have 1st hand field experience with the 125 gr AccuBond out a 308 for deer &/or Pronghorns?

I'm thinking of working up a load for my Rem 600, as a backup to my 7mm-08, for an upcoming Wy hunt. They should shoot about equal trajectories out to about 400 yds or so, if I can get it to move close to 3000fps. (well, maybe 2900)

2900fps should be doable in a 18" barrel. I'm pushing 3100fps in a 24"barrel with TAC. CFE223 may be better in the short tube. My Kimber shoots 1/2"groups with this combo. The 125 BT is another one that will work very well at 2900FPS for deer.

I run them with 50-grs of Varget and shoot little groups. I use the 125 NBT with the same load for lighter skinned game.

Don't really see a need to go to the AccuBond in the .308 Win.

The 125 gr Ballistic Tip is an honest deer bullet. No problem. Excellent accuracy. Dani's load was somewhere around 3,000 fps as I recall. EXCELLENT accuracy and one heck of a large bodied buck. Small antlers, true. Bang-Flop at 120 yards:

I have been using 46 grs IMR4895 with WW cases and CCI BR2 primers with 125 BT out of my 21 1/2" barrel 308 Win that does 3000 fps for deer for quite a few years now. Lost count but will say 50+ deer taken with this load. Can't think of but two that have even taken a step after taking one and they did not go over three jumps. I use the 125 BT in all my 30 cal stuff for deer. The 125 BT does 2670 fps from my 14" 30-30AI Contender pistol and if just plain smokes deer. As long as you keep it under 3000 fps impact velocity it is great. The 125 AccuBond ought to work well at higher velocities but not really needed from a 308.
