Hello everyone,

Im using a Remington 700 VSSF in .308. Is anyone loading this bullet for this application? If so can you let me know what kind of performance you are getting out of it? Any additional info you can provide is appreciated.

I'm new to the forum and I don't load that bullet but have loaded 150gn bullets in the .308 in the past, my observation with a .308 in the bench rest world was IMR4064 and a 150gn bullet will get you one hole groups at 200yds.

I will have to try that powder thanks. What weapon system were you using?

700 Rem 24 inch varmit wgt bbl. 722 Rem 20 inch Varmit wgt bbl. 788 Rem 24 inch standard wgt bbl.

I had no luck getting an accurate load with the 150gr E-Tip bullets in a custom .308. However, I got very good results with the 165 AccuBond.

The E-Tips like a lot of jump. Try loading .100" off the lands, this seems to be the magic distance and has worked for me with the 257 Roberts 100 gr ET, 280 AI 150 gr ET and 338 RUM 200 gr ET.

As JD stated , a lot of jump. As far as powders go:

IMR 4064
Varget
H4895
RL10

Varget and RL15 have been great powders for me and the 308. Pretty good speeds and good accuracy. Let us know how the 150gr E-Tips do. They would be a good one for bigger game in the 308. Great speed and should work really well on big bones! Scotty
