2009 Rifle Hunt

Here is a pic of my youngest son and I with my 8 pt. Scale weighed at 155 lbs. dressed. Shot was a lazered 235 yds. Used my 7m-08 with 140 Accubonds....which performed flawlessly.

Great picture. Congratulations on a fine deer. Sounds like a great shot. There sure isn't much snow there! :roll:

No snow, but lots of corn. I am not sure I would'nt have rather had lots of snow and no corn. The rut was going full bore and this buck was traveling and lookin. It all happened very fast, so the distance was lazered after the fact, but other than the short time frame the shot was nothing great. He stopped at a fence line to take a look and I was shooting off of a rest. Now if I could have bragged I took him off hand..........that would have been a story :lol:

Nevertheless, it is always good to hit what you aim for. It is especially great to have your son hunting with you.

You are certainly right Dr. Mike. Josh and I don't get a lot of times like this because he is going to college full time, working about 30 hours a week and also doing an internship at our church with youth and worship. So this kind of time is at a premium. Throw in being able to hang out with my Brother in law and his son........truely a blessing. The buck was nice, but the time together was the best.

Yes it is my most recent 75. This is the one I sent to HillCountry because I could not get it to shoot consistently. But it does now 8) I was not happy having to spend the extra dough (as I have to save a long time to get one of these), but if it keeps taking decent bucks like this...in a few more years I may get to like it. :wink:
