Shipping tomorrow!

One mule deer, one pronghorn buck. Very excited about this. Have a completely blank wall above my desk, waiting for that mule deer!

Just skull mounts - nothing fancy. But he's a really cool looking buck!

Dang... I want to see those things!

Guy

Guy,

I look forward to seeing your pictures.

That's neat Guy. Every time you look you will remember your hunt............and what an awesome cartridge that 25-06 is!

How are you hanging them Guy? A lot have guys around here are using Skull Hooker system for Euro mounts. A good euro looks just as good as a full shoulder mount IMO.

I've got several euro mounts around the house.

Most, I simply hang with a sheet rock anchor & screw. No problem.

The elk antlers were so big & heavy, they deserved something more secure. I actually put "timber lock" 4" lag bolts into a wall stud to hold them firmly in place. They'd hurt somebody if they came crashing down. Again...

Guy

That's really great, Guy. Sounds as if you have a pretty good set of trophies. Like Vince, I sure want to see your pictures when they are hung.

Guy, I can't wait to see those two mounts you have coming, they are always unique in some way!!

Blessings,
Dan

Can't wait to see em on the wall!

My wife actually asked me if I could shoot a bull elk this fall ( yeah no problem honey consider it done)

I guess she saw a house on one of those home shows and she fell in love with a European Bull elk skull on the wall. Who would have thought?

Cool!

Gah!

The mounts arrived today, all nicely boxed up. I carefully un-crated them, and admired them. Didn't hang them on the wall yet. Want to confer a little more with Mama before hanging more skulls, antlers & horns on the wall.

Came back inside from helping my son with a little Jeep project.

Bird dog had eaten the nose off the deer skull...

Mad at myself for leaving the skulls down on the floor where he could get them. He just did what a dog will do. Knows he's in trouble. Phooey.

Antlers still look good, but the skull is a little off without the full length of the nose there... Dunno. Might hang it somewhere less conspicuous than where I'd planned. Doggone it. So to speak.

Guy

A dog'll do what a dog's gotta' do. Still, it would sure be disappointing. Truly sorry to hear that, Guy. And, yes, the pup is lucky to have an owner that loves him.

Doggone it... So to speak... Was going to put that skull mount right above my desk, but I think it may end up out in the garage on the wall now. Phooey.

Dog has been hiding in my youngest son's room ever since...

I didn't touch him, just growled a little about it. He knows he did bad, but I didn't put the danged mounts up high, out of his reach. He does like to chew stuff...

Sigh.

Sorry Guy, my best deer mount is damaged a little too. From a home invasion where they tried to steal it and left it in the driveway with some hair scuffed off. Dog's will be dogs?

My mule deer mount is over at Donna's sons house with a red nose (aka, Rudolph), mounted over their fireplace.

Sorry to hear that Guy. Put a picture up anyway. Maybe one of us here has an idea or two how it can be altered or fixed, or other ideas. Worth a try, plus I'm sure it doesn't look horrible.

When I find little sheds or I have some smaller elk or deer I have harvested and I don't plan on doing something with, I take and cut them into chunks 6 inches or so long and give them to my dogs for their chew toys. They absolutely love them and they last forever. I won't ever buy one of those rawhide chew again after my dog got it blocked in her stomach and we almost had to do surgery on her. The sheds are actually good for them to eat as they get little bits at a time and there are nutrients in the antler.

We all would still like to see your mounts.

...a little Bondo & maybe some wire, you could probably fix it right up, replacing the now defunct parts...
