Dipping my toes back into the 20 cal waters! Had a rh Rem 700 LVSF back in the day. Accurate and fun to shoot. Sold as it wasn't lh, but has taken awhile to find a lh replacement.
Found a LH CZ American in 204 Ruger. Comes with dies and 1" rings, and has been bedded.
Have also found ammo (32 and 40 gr), components (39 SBK and 40 gr V-Max), a spare magazine, and 30mm rings for my VX-3 4.5-14x40 LR w/ Varmint Reticle scope.
Previous owner had found promise with handloaded 39 gr SBKs over Benchmark with accuracy improving as he neared max charge. Also have H4985, CFE223, Varget and IMR XBR 8208 to try.
Hoping for accuracy with 39/40 gr bullets,
Anyone have this rifle/cartridge combo that can share experience?

I'm using the 26 grain barns varmint grenade 29.5 h335 gives me about 4400 ft per second. The 32 V-Max with 29.5 of win 748 gives me a bit over 4,000 ft per second and the 32 grain vmax with 29 grains of h4895 gives me a bit over 4,000 ft per second all groups are .5" or less. Also with a 32 grain VMAX 28 grains of h335 gives me 4200 ft per second. This is a Max load in my rifle

Benchmark and 8208 are going to be hard to beat with that 39 gr. I'm wanting to get my hands on Reloder 10X, it's supposed to be the golden ticket in the 204 R.

The 39 and 40 grain bullets can be "iffy" on stabilizing from a standard twist 204 Ruger. I get better, more consistent accuracy from the 32-35 grain bullets. Run 'em hard. The 204 thrives on velocity.
