Hi - which bullet should I use for either a .223 or a .22-250 for javelina? The rifle I'd like to use is a CZ-527 in .223, which has the standard 1 in 12 inches twist (I think that's standard?) and not the faster 1 in 9 or 1 in 7 inches. I tried some 64 gr Powerpoints, but they did not group well. I have a box of 60 gr Partitions - will they stabilize in a standrd twist barrel? If not, what would you suggest?

They should stabilize. The 223 I use to have shot 60 gr Hornadies in the .3's.

Thanks - I did get the Partitions to group into a half-inch or less with 25.0 gr of BL(C)-2 and a mag primer. This is the load I will use. I usually get better groups with the 40 gr BT and H-335 or W-748, but this is certainly good enough!

If you can get PT's to group that well I think you will be happier with that bullet.

HI! IF , YOU USE THE 22-250 YOU WILL GAIN MORE VELOCITY
AND ENERGY. I HAVE NOT SHOT ANY JAVELINE BUT, HAVE SHOT
WHITE TAILS WITH THE OLD LEAD TIP SOLID BASE AND THEY
PERFORM VERY WELL YOU WILL PROBABLY WANT TO KEEP YOUR
SHOTS UDER 150 YARDS AS ,THIS IS A LITE BULLET AND
DOES NOT HAVE THE ENERGY FOR LONG SHOTS.
HOPE THIS HELPS!!
