Interesting. Would a 125gr give you much more BC and performance than the existing 115gr?

The existing .257 AB is 110grs, that’s why I’m thinking a 125 or so would be a noticeable difference.

Honestly, I don't know if a fast twist, heavy bullet 25-06 would do anything more than I've already done with my standard 1:10" twist 24" factory 25-06 rifle.

I use it to hunt mule deer and smaller species, out to 400ish yards. A good 115ish grain bullet at 3150 - 3200 fps has always done real well.

If the game is at 9,000+ gazillion yards, I either won't shoot it or I'll stalk closer.

Sometimes it's okay to leave things that work just fine... Just leave 'em alone... If I wanted to fling a 130 grain bullet, I'd have bought a 270 Winchester...

I dunno guys. Too old and set in my ways? I've no interest in popping game at 600 yards and beyond.

While I agree with the idea, a fast twist gives you the opportunity to pick up a heavier mono than the 100 grainers currently on the market.

Side note: Have you seen the new 101gr LRX for .257? If I still had my 25-06 I'd be all over that.

1:7 is stated but it stabilized fine in my 1:7.5 out to 200, which is the furthest I shot it.

I’d make a rifle up. I have a Krieger #2 .257 1-7 barrel just waiting for a moment of weakness.
