I finally found a good load that shows promise in my .260 remington after a lot of trial and error.

Remington 700 LSS Mtn Rifle 22" barrel
1 in 9 twist
130 grain AccuBond
CCI BR Primer
2.800 COL
H4831sc 48 grains

Came out to 3 shots at .679
Average Velocity 2775
This should be close to max if not slightly above, only seeing very very slight flattening of primer.

Pop can you run a quick load on this to see how close I am to the theoretical velocities on this and how much wiggle room I have up or down??

That is a sweet cartridge. Are you planning to use it for whitetail and mule deer. I have some fond memories of hunting mulies in the Terlingua area during the 70s.

Sounds like a "does it all" load to me. Maybe not varmints but everything from WT on up should work well. 260 is my favorite cartridge.

ldg,

Congrats on finding a good load. I dont' understand why the .260's are as finicky as they are with the two bigger brothers .308 & 7-08 shooting great with about any combo put through them.

The 130 A-bonds work great for me with the BR primers and H414 @ a max load. Same COAL ..

I loaded a few 130gr VLD's with Viht N560 with great success.... I'm going to try some of the N560 now with the A-bonds.

Keep us posted if you change anything ....
