Hey guys I just picked up a 5lb jug for well, I almost feel guilty saying it! 15 bucks. Anyway I'm thinking it could be a very good powder for the 270 win, I have 140 ABs, 130 Hornady IB's, 130 E-tips, 140 SST, and the 150 Partition, there is some data out there but not a lot. Can some one run some Quikload data for me? It would be much appreciated. Thanks

I think you'll like that pairing!

Hard to find a much better powder for the 270. Seems to really work well with just about any normal bullet weight. It is very accurate in my little brothers 270 with Accubonds. Almost zero real load work, it just shoots!

My 270 win also liked RL22. H4831sc is also a great powder (that was my favorite).

On another note, WOW! The stores here in Oregon have really stocked up on Alliant powders. I was in Sportsmans Warehouse today, and they had at least 10 lbs each of RL25, RL22, RL17, RL15, RL10x, and RL7. Also just about all the popular IMR powders.

Still out of Nolser 7mm ABLR  But I did pick up some Berger 168 grn VLD Hunting though

I bought 5 lbs of R17 today..... for two hundred and eighty bucks!

Holy smokes Bob.... It's about 90-120 where I buy it!

Closer to $200 a pound here, if you could find Alliant Powders! Haven't picked any up in a long time here in Canada.

RL22 is an excellent choice for the 270 Win.
I can get 5 lb jug for $109 here.

thanks for the data and good words on the R22, I'm excited to give it a run. It has a 90 sticker on it, I got it from my local store, they had a bunch of people bring in tons, and tons of ammo and powder etc, they wanted to get rid of it, so since I've been a good customer, he said $15 bucks its yours, and I could not pass that up

I've shot out a couple of 270 barrels using RL22. It works great in the 270,and it's always a toss up between that and H4831 with 130 gr bullets.

I have not yet tried RL23 but it should be great.

I like to use the Federal 215 mag primer with RL22 in the 270.
