Picked up a 270 after too many years without one. Looking for help with loading. Bullets I have available are 130 E-tip and 150 Partition. Would love to hear what works for you guys.

H4831 is the classic powder. IMR 4350 and RL 22 are also great powders to use in the 270 Win.

One thing is certain, you have a couple of excellent bullets for your cartridge.

RL22 RL25 and H4831.

Like apple pie and vanilla ice cream....(and I hate vanilla!) :p

The 130 E Tip is a pretty impressive little bullet. I have some out of my 270 WSM that where shot into the dirt at 200 yards and they lost two grains of weight.

Hank, I've had good luck with the 150gr Nosler Partition on elk.
58gr of H4831 and Rem brass will throw them 2900 out of a 22" barrel.

My favorite .227 bullet is the 140 gr BT/AB. With H4831 and cci200 primers, They shoot bug holes out of every 270 I've shot them in. The low node is typically around 57gr, and the high node is usually around 59gr.

uh... I did not hear anyone say H4350 and Winchester primers with 150 grn bullets? I am just starting to test some loads with that combo.

For 130 grains my loads are: H4831 sc 60 gr or R-17 53.5 - 54 grains. H 4831sc gives me more velocity over regular H4831 about 50 fps.
Primers are CCI Large Rifle BR-2. I think BR-2 are just simply great and consistent.

For 140 grain AB I use H4831 sc and 59 gr with G215M magnum primers. It is hot load.

For 150 grain I use R-22 58 grains and Federal G215M magnum primer.
Brass is from Norma cut to 2.530 inch.

All of them are very accurate. Some of them shoots 1/2 MOA groups.

I use Sako 85 Classic rifle.
