I wanted to run a few PT's through the 280 AI.

The 140 gr PT with 63.0 grs RL 22, R-P case and a Federal GM215M primer went .662"
The 1 st shot was a 140 gr AB, then 3 140 gr PT's.

The 150 gr PT with 61.0 grs RL 22, R-P case and a Federal GM215M primer went .265"

I am going to give the 150 gr PT a try for WT.

You are bored huh?

great shooting

I guess so, the 150 gr Pt load looks excellent. Any idea on how fast it's going?

Gerry,

I did not have my chronograph with me, would guess 3000 fps.

That is some fine shooting with a great bullet, Jim. You are definitely set for about anything in NA.

A friend of mine has shot moose with his Browning A Bolt 280 Rem and the 150 gr Partition and it obviously worked well. We loaded up his remaining 40 rounds of the 160 gr Partition Gold with H 4350 a few weeks ago, need to find a few more of those.

Jim,

All kidding aside. Great shooting. My TGR will do the same with 150 E-Tips.

Saw reloading manual #7 yesterday. You are going to love it.

Thanks Jerry.
Looking forward to getting a copy of RG #7

Jim, If your board I don't know why you picked that rifle to play with. It seems to shoot everything you shoot out of it like that.

Nice work.

You remind me of Bullet with the 7mm-08 rem TGR

So many loads under moa and practically no throat left

JD,

Aren't you heading up north yet? I'm afraid its going to be a bit too warm for the opener. Are you heading to the same stand as last year? Same lever?

Long

Long,

Heading up Wednesday. My buddy put his camera out at my stand and there is a 7 pt and an 8 pt hanging around. Taking the 45-70 and the 280 AI. Both have VX-3 scopes and they offer me the low light performance I need in that cedar swamp.

JD,
As usual great shooting. I like the fine group with that load.

Don

Man those 280AI's just drive tacks with boring consistency. I've fooled around a bit with the 160 and 175's PT all 4 test groups with different COAL were under an inch haven't got em short enough for one holes but it will be with another .010" I think.

Fotis

This rifle is amazing, everything shoots well under .5 MOA.
The only "work" was the 150 gr E-Tip. Once I seated .100" off the lands, shot a .300" group.
The 120 gr BT went .277", 140 gr BT went .219", 140 gr AB .3", 150 gr PT .265, and 160 gr AB .092".
I am sure I could get well under .5" with the 140 gr PT but I am not going to bother.
I have the new 168 gr ALR to play with next spring.

Guess I could put this rifle up for sale and try something different.

Great shooting Jim! That rifle does shoot everything pretty danged well buddy. Hard to give up a sure thing like that. It is nice when they deliver that well, all the time, with anything!
