just finished my lightweight rig.-
Remington 700 action, fully blueprinted.
Douglas Premium num 1 contour
22.5in lenght
Freefloated, glass bedded devcon 10110
Timney trigger
Talley lightweight rings
Leupy vari x2 3x9 set at 6 power
Cerroakote on Metal.- Naval grey, sniper gray and armor black.

What velocity can I expect with 140gr bullet in such a short barrel......
just started shooting seems..... a good shooter
Dont like such thin barrels but.......

dont know by now, but I can say very light will change scope to a vari x 3 1.5x5 scope. very compact and light.

Another handsome rifle, to be sure. QL projects up to 3200+ fps from that particular barrel with a 140 grain AB. I would anticipate an honest 3100 fps.

Looks like you did a very nice job on that rifle! I really like it. I would have to say for me and the obvious use of the rifle, it sure would look nice with a 2.5-8x36mm Leupold VXIII. Give just a touch more magnification on the upper end and 2.5 can be used at rock throwing distances.

Very nice looking rig. If it were me I would go for more glass than the 1.5-5 since you have a long range capable cartridge, 2.5-8x36 or a 3.5-10x40 would be just about perfect and still plenty light.
