.300 RUM - Nirvana

STW,
No doubt you have some money invested in that set up. Can you share what the barrel job cost from C.A.? I have entertained the thought of doing the same some day.

Thanks,
Don

Don, here is what they charged me for the work - barrel chambered and installed and true action $1000.00- the carbon fibre stock with graphite bedding block, camo dipped and limbsaver recoil pad $750.00. Lighten bolt handle and spiral flute bolt body with teflon coating-$200.00. They also installed the Swarovski Z3-3-10x42 with Talley rings and bases for $880.00. They also worked on the factory trigger no charge. The rifle is threaded for a break but I do not find it uncomfortable at all without. The gun is everything they claim it will be. This year will be my third year with the gun and I have over 400 rounds through it and shows no signs of barrel wear. Two friends after shooting mine went out and purchased their own and a third friend is begging his wife to let him do the same.

1000 bucks for chambering, installing the barrel and true the action  my gunsmith charges 300 8)

STW,
Thanks for the information. You certainly have an awesome set up.

Don

FOTIS,
Any chance you could tell me what QuickLoad says the following two loads should be doing out of my 26" barrel, and using the 200 grain AccuBond? Thanks so much in advance.

IMR 7828 83.5 grains Nosler #7 says it's doing 2,975 FPS
H-1000 88.0 grains Nosler #7 says it's doing 2,927 FPS

I have, Retumbo loads were all over 2" groups for me...

RL 25 showed some promise with 92.0 grains but the groups were still about 1.5". The only groups under an inch that I've had were with IMR 4350, H-1000 and IMR 7828.

What is your COAL? I found this made a big difference in my group size will everything else being equal and from the same lots. My COAL is 3.671
