New toy to play with  . Would appreciate some advice. Thinking of trying 200g Ab or Pt. really don't know where to start with powders On hand I have 7828ssc, RL19/22 Both 4350's. Would love to hear what you guys are using.

The 300 Bee shines with slow burning powder. You can't go wrong with either 7828 or R-22, if you already have it on hand.

DF is right on the money. IMR7828 or RL22 are going to be some of the best choices, and since they are already on your bench, you're all set. I'd take a strong look at 180gr bullets, too, as I believe that weight is a perfect match to the 300Wby, but the 200gr stuff is still excellent.

Find some recent posts by "bullet" I know that he did an article on the 300 bee and used a variety of powder. Also here is one from another post
I would work up to 73-74gr of RL22 in your 300 Win Mag, you should be pushing over 2900 with the 200gr PT and get some great accuracy. I can't remember my load right now, since I am away from home, but RL22 is pretty good stuff.
I think that starting around 70 grains of 4350 and working up, will work for the 200 gr., I have three manuals that show 74 as max.

The question was for a 300 WBY not 300 WIN.

If you're shooting 200 gr bullets my max is 83 gr IMR 7828 or 85 gr RL 25.

Drop 5 grains in each and work up. In a 26" tube you're looking at 3050-3100 fps with the 200 grain.

Thanks guys, I will also pick up some RL25. Always need an excuse for more powder

I have used 7828, RL22 and RL25 with good success. RL25 works great with the 200gr bullet.

I now use Reloader 25 also on all my 300 Weatherby loads. Here's a three shot group from my friends Bee with 180 grains Barnes TTSX.

Nice shooting! What powder charge do you use with 180gr and 200gr loads?

Not bad, DF, not bad at all.
Thanks DrMike. This was from my buddy Franks Custom Weatherby MKV with 26 inch Shilen barrel

85 grains of Reloader 25 with 180. Never tried the 200 yet with this rifle.

My own Accumark can be loaded up to 87 grains of Reloader 25 but it shoots better with IMR 7828.
Here's the 3 and 5 shot group at 110 yards with my straight factory Accumark after skim bedding. I use 180 grain Barnes TSX with mine.

Undoubtedly, those bees can sting. Target porn excites this old man almost as much as rifle porn.

I have done 3 300 Weatherby load workups (different rifles) and all liked something a little different from each other! The very first was a W.German Mark V with a custom barrel and it liked RL-22 with both 180's and 200 Nosler PT. The second was a Jap Mark V for my son which was really finicky, we ended up with 200 gr. bullets and RL-25. My last rifle is a model 70 Classic Stainless that gave me real fits until I re-stocked it. It likes 87 gr of RL-25 and the 180 AB plus it really kicks butt with 84.5 gr of IMR7828 SSC in the 168 TSX at over 3300 fps with all touching at 100. I've shot several elk with the model 70 and the 180 AB, never had the faith in the Barnes on animals (maybe I should?)!

One other thing that is related to another post is RL-22 powder, I killed many, many animals for lots of years with that old Wby and that powder. I guess when neither I nor the animals knew it was temperature sensitive, it really didn't matter!

I have experienced the same. I used to own a Jap Lazermark that loved 180gr Hornady SP with IMR7828, and then a M70 that liked RL25. I now have a Jap Deluxe that I just picked up and will have to start over...lol
I am leaning towards RL25 to start. My 8mm RM just loves that powder with the 220gr Sierra.

Great load data! I have a 300WBY on the way and cannot wait to start loading for it. Those loads and groups are awesome! Thanks for posting all the data and targets. Scotty

Update first range trip. Looks like this one may have potential  180 grain factory sp. Top circle first shot, to the left windage adj 2" Last 4 shots bottom right. Now to start loading and fine tuning.
