Worked some loads this weekend for my 30-06.-
My rifle is a remington 700 barreled action, glass bedded in a fiberglass stock- warne bases and offset Weaver rings and a very very small
burris 4x scope- the rig is very very lightwiegth-
First tried 165 interbonds Hornadys with a stiff load of Imr 4350- pattern like a 12ga.hihi-These interbonds never have worked for me.
The nxt loads were large doses of RL22 with the Nosler Ballistic 165gr Tip-
Excelent groups with the loads I tried-settled on 61.1gr Rl22-100% loading density-aprox2900fps.-
Would like comments of anyone who has had luck with the Hornady Interbonds.

I like the concept of the I-bond but I never got them to shoot.
My bud's Kimber loves them!

During recent load workups, I got groups between just under 1" up to about 1.75" for three shots. I was not taking exceptional time, as I was working through several workups of different powders to determine max charge, and the wind was horrible. Overall, I'd say 1" at 100yds is not bad, and for that matter, 1.4" at 100yds from a 130gr Interbond doing 3500fps is pretty darn acceptable for my hunting purposes. I suspect this next batch, tweaked a bit for seating depth to find the sweet spot, will produce some consistent sub 1" groups, as I know this rifle is capable of excellent accuracy. I am also going to try the Accubonds at some point, but if these 3500fps Interbonds will go .75" or so, I am going to stop load work right there, and start shooting drills for hunting practice.

I had some interbonds for my 7mm RM and I could never get them to shoot very accurately. Of course that rifle liked very few bullets at all.

If it shot the Ballistic Tips well - and they have a good reputation for accuracy - the rifle just might shoot Nosler Accubonds well too.

Worth a try if you're intent on shooting a bonded bullet.

BTW - I've been pleased with the overall accuracy of Nosler 165 Partitions from my old beat-up .30-06 too.

Sorry - never tried the Hornady Interbond bullets.

Regards, Guy

I just tied down a load with Hornady SST 165 grain. My '06 loves that bullet! I used 57.3 grains of IMR 4350, Remington brass, Rem 9 1/2 LR primers, OAL 3.335". I print .25" - .40" at 100 yards and 1.75" at 300 yards. The load chrony'd 2900 fps!. Seating depth is .004 off the lands.

sniper208 - that sounds like one heck of a load! Congrats! Accuracy and velocity. Nice...

Now, load up about a zillion of 'em and go get something with it!

Thanks! I am getting a REAL rest to use at the range so my 300 yard groups should tighten up a bit. I am using a stack of sandbags that aren't the best rest for testing (that's my alibi and I'm sticking to it!)

Nice thing about the SST is it's good for all sorts of thin-skinned critters

I have not tried the Inter-Bonds, just worked up a great load for my "06 using the 165 gr AccuBond, 58 grs of RL-19, shoots at or under 3/4 inch if I do my job at 100 yards.

I've had issues with the 200 gr. AB. The folks at Nosler are sending a box of 180's to try. I hope I can get the same results others have experienced. As soon as I can, I'll work up the loads and get to the range. My rifle seems to like the 165/IMR4350 combination and the 180 ?RE19.

Work up to 61 gr RL22 with the 180 AB.
