Just seeing what people preferences are in 308 win. I have a decent for deer 150gr load but I’m looking to load a 165 NBT. What powders do you prefer are there any “known” good loads? This is used for hunting whitetail deer in central PA from a tree stand or on foot. Shooting from 30yds to about 200yds with the likely distance of under 100. I don’t push my 308 to max speeds I have other stuff for that but 2700-2750 is more than enough and I prefer an accurate round. I’ve got a veriety of powders to chose from H to IMR and WIN and RL.
The rifle is a tikka t3x 22” barrel

I've got a Nosler M21 308 Win. My go to load is 46.0 grs Varget and 165 gr BT/168 gr ABLR. It shoots in the .3's and flattens WT deer. I also have loads for the 150 gr BT with Varget and IMR4064.
These powders shoot sub .5 MOA.
I've also got a load with the 130 gr TTSX using TAC and the Sierra 220 gr RN Pro Hunter with CFE223. These shoot well under MOA out to 250 yards.

I hunt whitetail deer the same distances that you’ve described out to 300 yards.
I shoot 150 grain Accubonds in Starline brass, and #200 CCI primers, along with 46 grains of Varget.
Very accurate in my rifle, and I took a nice Doe last season with that load at about 40 yards.
I say If you have a good load with the 150s, just use that.

I've had really good success with Varget in my LTR .308 with the 125gr Ballistic tips and deer. Punching paper Varget was excellent with the Nosler 168gr CC, very accurate and consistent at all ranges. I also had really good results with RL15 with both bullets, but Varget was a little better.

I used a variety of bullets with Varget, all shot very well. Here is a small list.
168 NBT Lapua brass 44.6 grains Varget Fed 210 @ 2730 fps
165 NBT Lapua brass 45.3 grains Varget CCI 200 @ 2820 fps
178 ELD X Lapua brass 42.7 grains Varget Fed 210M @ 2675 fps
All shot in the .2's - .3's at @ 100
