Hi All....Gave TAC its first try today..Rifle is Ed Brown Marine Sniper 308W...24" KREIGER BBL..Swarovski PV 4x16x50P w/ 4A Reticle...built in 2002 and has as of today 1612rounds fired thru that KREIGER BBL...it has ALWAYS been a true 1/2 MOA shooter...had previously used VARGET...Load is:

Lapua Cases new (have Always used LAPUA cases)
CCI BR2
Nosler 150 Partition
Ramshot Tac 46gr.

I started at 43gr and went up 1 Gr at a time..groups shrank and velocity went up as chg. increased...46gr is max. in Nosler #6 but it showed NO signs of excess pressure..primers are round...no funny marks on case head...etc....The only thing I did diff. was that I was able to measure the OAL from bolt face to start of lands (with the help of my gunsmith...!!!)..I seated the OGIVE of the 150 Partitions AT the start of the Lands using a Sinclair Bullet Comparator....The target shown was typical of the MAX charge of TAC...Group is .532"...best I can hold with my 62yr. old eyes....AND the velocity is VERY close to Nosler #6....TEN SHOTS averaged 2966fps and I WILL not say what the ES and SD are because you will NOT believe me...only that they were in the SINGLE digits....VERY little copper fouling...only a mild copper wash at the top of the lands...THIS bbl. is SMOOTH and ALWAYS cleaned up FAST....
AND....THIS load is as fast as ANY of my 30/06 loads...!!!!

sargeny1,
Congrats on the new load! Looks like a winner. I've always had good luck with TAC in several calibers and weights. I have one load for 150gr BTs that is consistantly at less than 1" in a light weight Kimber that does 2960fps.

In the .308 family of cases, TAC can be a great powder. It does appear that it has performed well for you in this instance. Congratulations on a fine load in a very good rifle.

Nice shooting!
Man, you are there. The 150 gr PT is a tough little bullet and it will serve you well.

I think that you have that just about tuned in
That is some great shooting.

Blessings,
Dan

Yeah, that looks excellent. That 150 PT at 2900+ is a screamer as well. I think your ready!

Yes, ready to go, now kill something with that load during hunting season.
