338 Fed or 338 RCM?

That Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan with the matte black/stainless finish in 375 Ruger would be a fun rifle for about anything. Granted, it is much bigger than most need, but that is the fun in it! Although, I think I could be pretty happy with the 338WM for about everything I would use the 375R for. Scotty

Make no mistake, a 375 R sure doesn't kick like a "little" round! They are impressive, on both ends. Mine split my woood stock in two places. Having said that, I LOVE IT! Scotty does have a point though. In North America there is nothing that a 338 WM can't take. But a 375 R will do it with more of a WHOMP! Either way the 2.5-8 VX-III is a great scope. My 375 R has one on it and it works quite well.

RCM for sure, given your two choices.
Reason? More flexibility due to higher speeds.
Personally I never understood the need for a 338-308. We already have a 358.
It is an answer to a question never asked.

Pop's right, and I also think something I said when this whole thing started quite a while back was get a 6mm Remington for your smaller rifle that IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT YOU SEVERLY NEED, and also get a 338-06 for the larger rifle. (Yes the RCM will work just fine, but the 338-06, now how cool is that!!!
