35 Whelen AI

Normally I always use a new barrel to build Ackley caliber but this time I'm having my 35 Whelen rechamber to the AI.

I was up gunsmith on Moday and he got that rifle chamber and cut dies for it so now just waiting bluing glad I didn't have that done or barrel stamped with caliber.

He test fired it so got acouple cases and Wilson dies work great. Be interesting comparing those two chambers in the same barrel.

I would think a 35 Whelen AI would be so dangerously close to a 338 Win Mag for regular hunting purposes, that it would negate needing the Win Mag. As it stands now, my Whelen nips at the heels of the Win Mag. Can't wait to see some groups and the rifle itself. Those AI cases sure are really nice looking. I would think 2650-2700 would be pretty possible with 250gr bullets. That is serious frontal assaulting power. Scotty
