I got a great deal on 2 boxes, 200 bullets, of Hornady 200gr RN bullets .358" diameter. I load for a .358 BLR and would like to load for my .35 Rem also with these bullets. Has anyone here had any problems with the 200gr RN functioning in the BLR? I thought I had read a few places about feeding problems with the RN and the BLR, but I can't find where I read it. I have a nice load with the 200 PSP, but I got 200 RN bullets for $25, so I had to buy. :)

Thanks

They work great for deer out of the BLR and the 35 rem. Feeding is flawless.

What muzzle velocity do you load to in the 35rem. What gun was is it a 336?

The hornady 200gr RN is a strange dog. It expands very fast up close and stops expanding right at about 100 yards and thats for a 35rem loaded to 2200fps MZ. It may prove to fragle for close shots in the 358win say 100 yards or less.

Another bullet and the best for the 35rem is the corelokt RN it expands at both long and short range and can't be hurt from any velocity the 35rem can produce.

Conley Percision offers ammo loaded to +2500fps for the 358win with the clrn so it must hold together at least for deer. I am going to load some mild 358win loads using them and varget around 2380fps mainly to finish off a set of 50 once shot brass. But I am wondering if this might just be a whitetail sledge hammer with this bullet with its large amont of exposed lead at the tip.

Well, I am not loading for the 35 yet, maybe 2000-2100fps, yes it is a 336. Every deer I have ever killed has been under 100yds, I run the 200gr Hornady PSP at 2380-2400, rekon the RN would be fine at that speed? I have read up on the CoreLokt for the 35 and seems to be the berries, I just haven't bought any................yet. In all honesty the 200RN Hornadys are for the .358, I hunt the brush and the deer do not know if I am hiding PSP's or RN's in my chamber, I may mix it up and surprise them. :)

So you think the RN's will work for the .358 BLR.

Thanks
