Picked up a lovely and well loved Ruger RSM in .416 Rigby.

What was I thinking? Other than my median bore size is now .330....

Love the 416's. Great choice, in a fine rifle!

Yeah, having a mean of .330 is hard to take. Congratulations on picking up a rifle chambered in a great cartridge.

I hear ya, I have a Mark 5 Euro in 416 Wby. :)
Love the rifle and oh man, the power.......

My buddy has one of those, touching a few off from the bench will get your attention. However off hand shooting gongs at 50-100 yards isn't that bad at all. That rifle is pretty darn accurate as well.

You wasn´t thinking, you were acting. Called upon for the need of more power.

Thinking in many cases won´t move a whole lot... but acting makes the intire difference

The guy I picked it up from loves the Rigby...he still has a couple more.

He's taken 3 large brown bears and two moose and has yet to recover a bullet. One of the moose and one of the bears were shot clean through end to end. That's pretty impressive when you think about how much critter that actually is.

Awesome score buddy! Those have always been some sweet rifles and well built too. Can't wait to see some pictures of it.

I have to decide if I want to scope it...I've got a rather nice NECG receiver sight for a Ruger just looking for a home- it would require doing something about the standing leaf sight though....

I picked up a Leupold 3x but I don't think it has enough eye relief for a tank gun. I'm sure it could poke you in the eyebrow pretty badly.

Started looking for ammo over the weekend- may be the longest pole in the tent. I found one box in the Interior at the whopping price of $285. My press is too short to stroke a Rigby through as well...which will mean new loading gear.

This is turning out to be quite the project.

Oh man, a new loading press AND a new rifle! That is better than most of my Christmas's!

Just wait until you begin to feed that cavernous maw with powder. Then there are dies and the bullets and... Yup! Better than Christmas!

At a 100gr or so per charge that'll make a pound of powder disappear in a hurry.

Good news is, i don't think I'll shoot it much. My neck won't take it. I do expect it will be a slower recoil impulse than my .375 Ruger due to sheer weight- so it might not be as bad as I think.

You're not kidding

120 gr RL19 with 330 GS customs in mine or
117 H4350 with 300 gr TSX

Buy your powder in 8 lb jugs. That will get you around 500 rounds. :)
