45-70 data for a contender

Any one have 45-70 data for a contender. I should have my 23" ss barrel on monday or tuesday

Would that be different than the load data I've worked up over the years for my 22" 1895 Marlin and my earlier 18.5" Guide Gun?

I've got quite a bit of load data for the Marlins, but don't know how that compares to what you may be seeking for the T/C.

I`d call TC and talk to them about the strenght of their rifle. I do however believe they are probably going to tell you to stay with standard pressure loads and not load to lever action or especially Ruger #1 levels. TC in the past chambered the Contender for cartridges like the 22 hornet, 30-30, ect that were low(er) pressure rounds. They introduced the Encore to handle the higher pressure cartridges.
I`d check as I said, I may be wrong.....

You have to load to Trap Door levels for the T/C Contender.
