55 BT with 1:14 twist

Running a 22-250 with a supposed 14 twist barrel @ 26". Wanting to run 55 Ballistic Silvertips but am concerned they may not stabilize at around 1000'. Does anybody have any insight before I spend good money on these bullets?

My .220 swift with a 1 in 14" shoots 55gr Ballistic Tips in 1/2" groups. In fact it shoots the 60gr partitions pretty darn good too. Your .22-250 shouldn't have an issue with 55gr bullets.

Agree with Bruce. 55 BTs were a staple in my old 14 twist 22-250.

Actually, some 55 grain plastic tip bullets are too long to stabilize from a standard twist .22-250.

Worth a try, but some shooters have had to drop back to a shorter bullet for stabilization & accuracy.
