Anyone load their 223 with some of these premium bullets? I’m going to try the Partitions, but wonder about its application given the premium you pay for this style bullet.

I was thinking that a coyote hunt where I had a possibility of seeing a cougar would be a good reason to have a Partition loaded over say a V-Max or Ballistic Tip. But even a cougar hit with a 60 grn varmint bullet would seem likely to fold.

Or maybe you guys load them for smaller deer or pronghorn?

Anyway, I’m going to give the Partitions a try, just not sure I want to pay the premium price.

The 224 60 gr PT is a tough little bullet. I shot a coyote with one, the bullet penetrated the coyote lengthwise.
You need a 1-12 twist or faster to stabalize. Look for seconds at Shooters Pro Shop, a great bullet at a great price.

I have gotten excellent accuracy out of my Savage with the 60gr PT. I think it would be the ultimate coyote/wolf or even cougar bullet as it will penetrate really well and not wreck pelts. Like Jim said, look for Nosler 2nds, they can be had for a very good price and making shooting them in the .22's much easier on the wallet. Scotty
