I've been playing with this cartridge on paper since my rifle is not here yet. The ballistic performance of this diminutive cartridge is very impressive. At 1000 yards, the 6BR loaded with 105 Berger VLD or the Hornady A-Max, at 2900 fps, will outshoot the 308 loaded with 175 grain SMK. It will do it with only 30 grains of powder. Two world record both in 1000 yards NBRSA and 600 yards was established by this cartridge. In both instances, the 105 A-Max was the bullet of choice. I will try both Berger VLD and Hornady A-Max when the time comes. I will also try both Varget and H4895 powder. We'll see.
Here's the side by side comparison with other cartridge.
L-R: 6 BR Norma, 6.5-47 Lapua, 6.5-284 Norma, 7 WSM, 338 Lapua Ackley Imp., 308 Winchester, 50 BMG
